Self-initiated
Software: After Effects, Final Cut Pro
A short comedy sketch. The parameters were to shoot on a consumer camera and create a found footage monster film. I wrote, and acted in (Danny), this story chronicling the search for the snarkiest urban legend of all – Hipsterfoot. Reports of urban bigfoot sightings in Chicago’s Logan Square came to Danny and Paul’s attention. This duo sets out to find this beast no matter where it lurks, be it a craft beer bar or thrift store. Watch the video to see their adventure.
Self-initiated, 24 hour film
Software: After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Audition, After Effects
The parameters were to write, shoot, and publish the film in 24 hours. The film could have no more than 3 characters and one had to speak in a fictional language. I wrote a story of an alien Emperor struggling to record his declaration of invasion to the people of Earth. Directing this was a lot of fun. Who likes working with puppets? This guy.
Client: Goons
Software: After Effects, Garageband, Premiere
Short video flyers for the street artist Goons and his show at Galerie F. It was fantastic to collaborate with an artist of such eclectic tastes. The challenge was working remotely since Goons was in his studio across the country. But the internet can be a wonderful thing, so we relied on Dropbox to share photo and video assets. We spoke over the phone and email so I could make requests for the types of shots I needed. Goons has a distinct personality and visual style so to be successful with his audience we had to bring as much of that into the videos as possible. The soundtrack is actually Goons rapping.
Client: AyOh
Software: After Effects, Premiere
The band AyOh approached me to make a music video for them using one of the songs on their upcoming album. The challenge was to deliver a high quality visual experience while working with a modest budget and short amount of time. We had 2 days of photography and a 3 man crew. Together we put out a video that I think captures the bittersweet moment behind the lyrics.

A short editing challenge to create a stealomatic; a short film made entirely of found media.
